Word of the Week

growler:

A growler is any person who seems surly or bad tempered:

“Oor new English teacher’s a right growler.”

In the plural growlers (and bangers) are sausages.

“You shove on the growlers while I butter these rolls.”

  1. I use that word completely out of context with the Scottish usage. If I have an upset stomache, I call it a “growler.”

  2. I love the british way of speaking, It never comes off well with an American accent but the saying” alright you Lot” carry on,- is fantastic
